Iran Gains 4 Medals in Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships in Kazakhstan
TEHRAN (corona)- Iranian Taekwondo Players took four medals, including two golds, at the 9th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships in Kazakhstan.

Iran’s minus 63-kilogram weight division female Taekwondo fighter, Zahra Shojaei, grabbed the gold medal in her weight category after overwhelming her South Korean opponent, Da Bin Song, 23-3 at the final bout held in the Western Kazakh city of Atyrau.

Mobina Nejad Katesari also managed to defeat her South Korean rival Mi-Reu Kang 23-3 in the finals to snatch the second gold medal in minus 42-kilogram weight section for Iran.

Hamidreza Sadri earned the silver medal in the male minus 48-kilogram weight category.

Earlier in minus 44-kilogram weight category, other Iranian player Mahla Mo’menzadeh collected a silver medal after he lost 9-18 in the final round to a representative from Thailand.

The 9th edition of the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships is being held in Atyrau, Kazakhstan since April 19, and will be wrapped up on April 21.

Male and female Taekwondo players from the Asian nations of Afghanistan, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand have been competing for the medals being awarded in each category in the tournament.
